Wedding Videographer vs. Wedding Filmmaker

A “wedding videographer” has become a pretty common term in the wedding industry. At Storytellers, we like to consider ourselves “wedding filmmakers.” But what is the difference between a wedding videographer and a wedding filmmaker?

As we see it, a videographer is someone who is simply capturing what is there in front of them. Now, maybe this is sufficient for most brides who simply want their wedding day captured as it happened.

A filmmaker, however, is someone who crafts an emotionally-driven film with storytelling in mind. The story is the key difference. By keeping story king, a filmmaker is able to capture the shots that he needs to tell the most effective and emotionally compelling story.

At Storytellers, we specialize in telling wedding stories that feel like movies, full of deep emotion and compelling narratives.

While this style of wedding films may not be for everyone, for those who want something that goes beyond your traditional wedding video, then we urge you to check out our packages and films to see if we are the right fit for you.
