5 Reasons to Hire a Videographer for Your Wedding

Are you currently on the fence about hiring a wedding videographer for your upcoming wedding? Here are 5 reasons why you might want to consider having one.

We get it, a wedding videographer is often not the first thing thought about when it comes to booking vendors for your wedding. The photographer often takes priority during the booking process as well as during the day of the wedding itself.

Photography has some great benefits: having moments captured frozen in time, the ability to print the photos and create a wedding album, and the simplicity of sharing photos on social media.

While all this gives photography an advantage, there is still a lot to be desired that can only be captured through video.

1. The Audio

Audio is one of the biggest things we focus on here at Storytellers. It is just as important, if not more important, than the visuals. It is one of the biggest factors to consider when thinking about the advantages of having a videographer.

When we film a wedding, we capture high-quality audio of the ceremony, vows, and other special moments during the day. This is just something that is not included with still photographs, the ability to listen to and remember the wedding day as it happened.

2. More Moments Captured

They say a photo is worth a thousand words. Well, then a single second of 24fps video is worth at least 24,000. Jokes aside, there is a lot more captured in a video than in a single photograph.

A photo is a moment frozen in time. A video captures what happened before, after, and during that single moment. Combine this with the audio from the vows or the ambience of the moment itself, and you have something that is filled with more memories and emotion than a single photograph can convey.

3. For Those Who Couldn’t Make It

Another big plus to having a wedding film is that you can give the family and friends that couldn’t make your wedding the experience of being there.

We had a recent couple who had to limit their wedding to just 10 people due to New York State COVID-19 restrictions. As bummed out as I’m sure they were, they remained positive through it all and were happy to have a film along with a full-length ceremony edit to share with friends and family.

4. Being Able to Look Back

While a wedding film will surely bring joy and emotions to you right after the wedding, imagine ten, or twenty years later. Imagine being able to look back at your film and reminisce about the memories and emotions you both experienced that day.

Having this all captured in video form will really allow you to relive the day over and over again. It will surely bring back emotions that cannot be fully experienced through photos.

5. The Film Itself

At Storytellers, our goal is to make your film an experience. While a videographer may just capture the moments as they happen, as filmmakers, we are looking for the shots that are going to tell the story of your wedding day.

Your film, then, is carefully crafted to tell the story of your wedding day in a way that evokes deep emotion. In other words, while you may be able to equate a still photograph with a single shot of video, there is added value in the fact that these shots that we capture will be meticulously put together in a final film that is thoughtfully crafted and that will allow you to experience your wedding day in a cinematic style.

We hope this has given you some insight into some of the advantages of having a videographer on your wedding day. At Storytellers, our goal is to deliver you an experience that you won’t ever forget. If you’re interested in booking with us, click the button below to view our films and packages.
